The cause of this accident was Human Error, which allowed the park to reopen The Smiler. The Smiler was closed throughout the 2015 season while the investigation continued into the accident.
The Smiler had operated quite smooth into 2015 but that changed with the rides most infamous incident, seeing 2 girls loose their legs in a accident where two trains collided. It was eventually opened on the 31st of May.

These included technical faults, construction problems and teething problems. In the weeks leading up to the coasters planned opening date, many delays were hit, resulting in a later opening time. Opened back in 2013, it was the first Infinity coaster to be produced by Gerstlauer, and currently is the only Infinity coaster to feature OTSR's (Over the shoulder restraints) which can lead to headbanging.
